Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress best known for her performances in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born as the only children of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the beautiful diva. Alexandra's work has led her to be involved in a variety of notable international and national projects. One of these is the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon. She was also an active member of jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
